“Not all those who wander are lost”- J.R. Tolkien

Hello,
We just came back from a road trip around the bend (not the place) we scooted up the Pacific Coast highway on route 101 all the way up to Dismal Nitch on the Washington Coast. We is me and my girlfriend. We camped out there after watching the most breathtaking sunset I have ever seen, and made roadside smores. It was so perfect, and was the first of many sunsets, smores and roadsides because I have no doubt we’ll do this over a million times more.

You are probably wondering at this point what the point of the article is. And to be honest, I myself am still somewhere in Oregon in a Yurt in Coos Bay, at a Lighthouse at Yaquina, or catching amazing sights at the forests and National Parks between San Francisco and and up to the passes and dunes of the OR shoreline. I’m not in a rush and this is a serious as it gets. Portlandia I am watching you! And I don’t exactly have a plan, other than to go with it. You’re welcome. And thank you.

After all the stops, we covered almost 4000 miles in 8 days, it was an amazing trip! I feel so blessed to have been able to go on this journey, and so lucky to have been able to spend it with such a wonderful companion and lady who is my girlfriend. Sometimes on our journeys regardless of who or where we are, we must remember the small things in life, we must appreciate chilly mornings in the Redwoods or Yosemite or wherever you fancy, make coffee in the early hours, enjoy the scenery, breathe the freshest sea air and feel how wonderful life and this Earth is. Get up and go I say!

So, like the regular adventurers we are, we did just that. I wish I had a better camera, but I captured some of my favorite moments and scenes, of course nothing compares to the actual scene, or the memories themselves of course, but I gave you my best effort to hopefully see what I love so much about the outdoors.

There is so much to see, and so little time. So, take the time. You must find it and carve it out of the scenery in your lives or you will stay in the rock you found yourself at home in, but if it’s not home, and you didn’t make it home, what are you really doing there?

If you need to do something, do it.

Life is so complicated, let’s be simple about our goals, the people we love and the things we enjoy. There’s no need to worry, just get your head down and take the next turn. You can stop and look around too. Whatever.
“Go crazy with it”- Bob Ross

You’ll find yourself in the most beautiful places, with your favourite person. Or you could be on your own, that’s fine too. I just got lucky.
You’ll make yourself a home. You’ll be safe. It’s just, where you need to go, and where do you need to go?
I find myself wondering, all I know is I’m building a home, with the best person in the world I could ask for, and it will be in the right place that I choose, because it’s no good to waste time forever, and it’s no good to live somewhere you don’t call home.
Yes, home is you, so you bring it with you wherever you go, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be on a journey to home, both in the real world and figuratively.
I’m on the way home. Where are you going?
Stay blessed,
Damien A.
