What is freedom really about?
The US is founded on freedom, right and a rebellious spirit?
You’re no longer in the British Empire? King’s subjects?
You might say the Empire is now America’s. There’s a bit of tussle with Russia and China. Some others are there too.
If we care about our own freedoms, did we notice that this is being slowly choked? The freedom, was it ever really there? Or wasn’t it always by name and promise only, and was this ever truly honoured?
Look how they have never truly honored any promises of freedom, they have simply found a way to subvert it and used other means to repress it?
This country freed itself from the British because of taxes and other supposed indignities? Are we not still being taxed? Haven’t they inflated in fact? Why did we accept inflation as a natural part of things? That’s just there so you’ll not notice but it’s just gradually getting worse, while increases in wages are hardly noticeable. When we do try to put wages up everyone seems to complain that this should not happen… they in other words protect struggles and suffering?
Why do we allow such suffering to continue? And just wait for someone to fix it? Anyone wants to change things get’s called a “Socialist” and everyone else just makes the situation worse. So what is our deal, what do we actually want? Do we prefer the company of misery, or do we want to be a happier, more free people?
What about loving thy neighbour? Who really loves their neighbour? And do they just mean – others who look and sound like you, who echo you? Why do you want to live like an echo? Instead of getting to know who we live with? Creating an actual community?
Are we being led like sheep to slaughter?
If we care about freedom, we apparently fight for it everyday, hence the military, but are they really being used to fight for freedom? Didn’t we just become the new Evil Empire?
The worst hypocrisy in all of this, is how we use this countries maxims from the founding fathers, and use the constitution as means to prescribe further separations and divisions, instead of making a stand for freedom, liberality and compassion. If you look at everything they all said, we should be protecting the innocent, and defending the vulnerable, can we say we are doing that?
